What is python-automaton

python-automaton is:

Automaton is a friendly state machines for Python. This state machine can be used to automatically run a given set of transitions and states in response to events (either from callbacks or from generator/iterator send() values, see PEP 342). On each triggered event, a on_enter and on_exit callback can also be provided which will be called to perform some type of action on leaving a prior state and before entering a new state.

This package contains the Python 2.7 module.

There are three methods to install python-automaton on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-automaton Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install python-automaton using apt-get by running the following command:

To uninstall only the python-automaton package we can use the following command:

To uninstall python-automaton and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-automaton

To remove python-automaton configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge python-automaton
