How To Install pyro on Ubuntu 18.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install pyro
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is pyro
pyro is:
Pyro (PYthon Remote Object) is an easy to use and powerful distributed object system for Python. In a distributed object system, clients send requests to distant servers, which owns the remote objects. Pyro simplifies a lot the creation of clients and servers, and has among its features:
- dynamic and static proxies for all remote method invocations,
- a naming service which keeps record of the location of objects,
- mobile objects support: clients and servers can pass objects around,
- exceptions that occur in the remote object is raised on the client too,
- multithreaded server support to handle multiple requests simultaneously.
This package contains the core Pyro library and the command line tools.
Some graphical tools are available in the pyro-gui package. The documentation is available in the pyro-doc package. A lot of examples are available in the pyro-examples package.
There are three methods to install pyro
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pyro Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pyro
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pyro
Install pyro Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pyro
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pyro
Install pyro Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pyro
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pyro
How To Uninstall pyro on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the pyro
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pyro
Uninstall pyro And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pyro
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pyro
Remove pyro Configurations and Data
To remove pyro
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pyro
Remove pyro configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pyro
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pyro
