How To Install pyrit on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install pyrit on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is pyrit
pyrit is:
Pyrit allows one to create massive databases, pre-computing part of the WPA/WPA2-PSK authentication phase in a space-time-tradeoff. Exploiting the computational power of many-core- and other platforms through ATI-Stream, Nvidia CUDA, OpenCL, and VIA Padlock, it is currently by far the most powerful attack against one of the world’s most used security-protocols.
This package contains the basic version of Pyrit, with support for MMX, SSE2 and VIA PADLOCK detected at run-time. Support for the non-free technologies Nvidia CUDA, ATI-Stream, and OpenCL can be added through extensions. If packaged, these should be available in the contrib section with names in the form of “pyrit-*.
There are three methods to install pyrit on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pyrit Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pyrit using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pyrit
Install pyrit Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pyrit using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pyrit
Install pyrit Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pyrit using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pyrit
How To Uninstall pyrit on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the pyrit package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pyrit
Uninstall pyrit And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pyrit and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pyrit
Remove pyrit Configurations and Data
To remove pyrit configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pyrit
Remove pyrit configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pyrit configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pyrit
