How To Install pyp on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install pyp on Kali Linux.
What is pyp
pyp is:
pyp, the Pyed Piper, is a command line tool for text manipulation. It is similar to awk and sed in functionality, but its subcommands are Python based, and thus more familiar to many programmers.
It can operate both on a per-line base and on the complete input stream. Different features can be pipelined in a single command by using the pipe character familiar from shell commands.
pyp backs up its input for reruns with modified commands, and can save commands as macros. On the downside, the rerun feature makes it unsuitable for continuous pipe operation.
There are three methods to install pyp on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pyp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pyp using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pypInstall pyp Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pyp using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pypInstall pyp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pyp using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pypHow To Uninstall pyp on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the pyp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pypUninstall pyp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pyp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pypRemove pyp Configurations and Data
To remove pyp configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pypRemove pyp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pyp configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pypDependencies
