How To Install pylama on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install pylama on Kali Linux.
What is pylama
pylama is:
pylama s a code audit tool for Python and JavaScript. It wraps the following tools:
- PEP8 ? 2012-2013, Florent Xicluna;
- PEP257 ? 2012, GreenSteam, http://greensteam.dk/
- PyFlakes ? 2005-2013, Kevin Watters;
- Mccabe ? Ned Batchelder;
- Pylint ? 2013, Logilab (should be installed ‘pylama_pylint’ module);
- gjslint ? The Closure Linter Authors (should be installed ‘pylama_gjslint’ module);
This package installs the tool in Python 3.
There are three methods to install pylama on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pylama Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pylama using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pylamaInstall pylama Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pylama using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pylamaInstall pylama Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pylama using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pylamaHow To Uninstall pylama on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the pylama package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pylamaUninstall pylama And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pylama and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pylamaRemove pylama Configurations and Data
To remove pylama configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pylamaRemove pylama configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pylama configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pylamaDependencies
