In this tutorial we learn how to install pyhoca-gui on Ubuntu 18.04.

What is pyhoca-gui

pyhoca-gui is:

X2Go is a server based computing environment with - session resuming - low bandwidth support - sesion brokerage support - client-side mass storage mounting support - client-side printing support - audio support - authentication by smartcard and USB stick

PyHoca-GUI is a slim X2Go client that docks to the desktop’s notification area and allows multiple X2Go session handling.

There are three methods to install pyhoca-gui on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pyhoca-gui Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pyhoca-gui using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pyhoca-gui

Install pyhoca-gui Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pyhoca-gui using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pyhoca-gui

Install pyhoca-gui Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pyhoca-gui using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pyhoca-gui

How To Uninstall pyhoca-gui on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the pyhoca-gui package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove pyhoca-gui

Uninstall pyhoca-gui And Its Dependencies

To uninstall pyhoca-gui and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pyhoca-gui

Remove pyhoca-gui Configurations and Data

To remove pyhoca-gui configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge pyhoca-gui

Remove pyhoca-gui configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove pyhoca-gui configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pyhoca-gui
