What is pybit-web

pybit-web is:

pyBit uses message queues to create a distributed, cross-platform buildd toolkit using a collection of buildds, using source from various VCS clients. pyBit is intended to support rapidly evolving software collections and can support multiple VCS frontends and multiple build backends.

This package provides a reporting and custom-build request interface for the status database and the controller agent for PyBit. The static web pages do need to be served from the same machine as is running the pybit-web application.

A single RabbitMQ server is also required, it can be installed on any machine which is visible to the controller and all clients.

There are three methods to install pybit-web on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pybit-web Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pybit-web using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pybit-web

Install pybit-web Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pybit-web using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pybit-web

Install pybit-web Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pybit-web using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pybit-web

How To Uninstall pybit-web on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the pybit-web package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove pybit-web

Uninstall pybit-web And Its Dependencies

To uninstall pybit-web and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pybit-web

Remove pybit-web Configurations and Data

To remove pybit-web configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge pybit-web

Remove pybit-web configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove pybit-web configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pybit-web
