What is pw3270
GTK-based IBM 3270 terminal emulator with many advanced features. It can be used to communicate with any IBM host that supports 3270-style connections over TELNET. Based on the original x3270 code, pw3270 was originally created for Banco do Brasil, and is now used worldwide.
We can use yum or dnf to install pw3270 on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install pw3270.
Install pw3270 on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install pw3270 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install pw3270
Install pw3270 on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install pw3270 using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install pw3270
How To Uninstall pw3270 on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the pw3270 package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove pw3270
