How To Install puppet on AlmaLinux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install puppet
on AlmaLinux 8.
What is puppet
Puppet lets you centrally manage every important aspect of your system using a cross-platform specification language that manages all the separate elements normally aggregated in different files, like users, cron jobs, and hosts, along with obviously discrete elements like packages, services, and files.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install puppet
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install puppet.
Install puppet on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install puppet
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install puppet
Install puppet on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install puppet
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install puppet
How To Uninstall puppet on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the puppet
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove puppet
