How To Install pulseaudio-module-lirc on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install pulseaudio-module-lirc on Kali Linux.
What is pulseaudio-module-lirc
pulseaudio-module-lirc is:
PulseAudio, previously known as Polypaudio, is a sound server for POSIX and WIN32 systems. It is a drop in replacement for the ESD sound server with much better latency, mixing/re-sampling quality and overall architecture.
This module enables the volume of a PulseAudio sink to be controlled when buttons of an infrared remote control are pressed (through LIRC).
The module is called module-lirc.
There are three methods to install pulseaudio-module-lirc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pulseaudio-module-lirc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pulseaudio-module-lirc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pulseaudio-module-lircInstall pulseaudio-module-lirc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pulseaudio-module-lirc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pulseaudio-module-lircInstall pulseaudio-module-lirc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pulseaudio-module-lirc using aptitude by running the following command:

To remove pulseaudio-module-lirc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pulseaudio-module-lircRemove pulseaudio-module-lirc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pulseaudio-module-lirc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pulseaudio-module-lircDependencies
