The Public Suffix List is a cross-vendor initiative to provide an accurate list of domain name suffixes, maintained by the hard work of Mozilla volunteers and by submissions from registries. Software using the Public Suffix List will be able to determine where cookies may and may not be set, protecting the user from being tracked across sites.
We can use yum or dnf to install publicsuffix-list on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install publicsuffix-list.
Install publicsuffix-list on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install publicsuffix-list using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install publicsuffix-list
Install publicsuffix-list on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install publicsuffix-list using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install publicsuffix-list
How To Uninstall publicsuffix-list on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the publicsuffix-list package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove publicsuffix-list
