In this tutorial we learn how to install pslib on CentOS 7.

What is pslib

pslib is a C-library to create PostScript files on the fly. It offers many drawing primitives, inclusion of png and eps images and a very sophisticated text rendering including hyphenation, kerning and ligatures. It can read external Type1 fonts and embed them into the output file. It supports pdfmarks which makes it in combination with ghostscript’s pdfwriter an alternative for libraries creating PDF.

We can use yum or dnf to install pslib on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install pslib.

Install pslib on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install pslib using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install pslib

Install pslib on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install pslib using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install pslib

How To Uninstall pslib on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the pslib package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove pslib
