How To Install psensor-server on Debian 11
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install psensor-server
on Debian 11.
What is psensor-server
psensor-server is:
Psensor server is an HTTP server providing a JSON Web service which can be used by Psensor GTK+ Application to monitor remotely the hardware sensors of a computer.
It can provide information about:
- the temperature of the motherboard and CPU sensors (using lm-sensors).
- the temperature of the NVidia GPUs (using XNVCtrl).
- the temperature of the Hard Disk Drives (using hddtemp).
- the rotation speed of the fans (using lm-sensors).
It is also possible to connect to Psensor server with a browser, a simple Web page is displaying the information.
There are three methods to install psensor-server
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install psensor-server Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install psensor-server
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install psensor-server
Install psensor-server Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install psensor-server
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install psensor-server
Install psensor-server Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install psensor-server
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install psensor-server
How To Uninstall psensor-server on Debian 11
To uninstall only the psensor-server
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove psensor-server
Uninstall psensor-server And Its Dependencies
To uninstall psensor-server
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove psensor-server
