This package contains static development libraries built with optimize_for = LITE_RUNTIME. The “optimize_for = LITE_RUNTIME” option causes the compiler to generate code which only depends libprotobuf-lite, which is much smaller than libprotobuf but lacks descriptors, reflection, and some other features. Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install protobuf-lite-static using yum by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install protobuf-lite-static using dnf by running the following command:

How To Uninstall protobuf-lite-static on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the protobuf-lite-static package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove protobuf-lite-static
