proftpd-mod-pgsql is:
ProFTPD is a powerful modular FTP/SFTP/FTPS server. This File Transfer Protocol daemon supports also hidden directories, virtual hosts, and per-directory “.ftpaccess” files. It uses a single main configuration file, with a syntax similar to Apache.
Because of the advanced design, anonymous-FTP directories can have an arbitrary internal structure (bin, lib, etc, and special files are not needed). Advanced features such as multiple password files and upload/download ratios are also supported.
This package provides PostgreSQL based authentication.
There are three methods to install proftpd-mod-pgsql

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install proftpd-mod-pgsql

How To Uninstall proftpd-mod-pgsql on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the proftpd-mod-pgsql
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove proftpd-mod-pgsql
Uninstall proftpd-mod-pgsql And Its Dependencies
To uninstall proftpd-mod-pgsql
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove proftpd-mod-pgsql
Remove proftpd-mod-pgsql Configurations and Data
To remove proftpd-mod-pgsql
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge proftpd-mod-pgsql
Remove proftpd-mod-pgsql configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove proftpd-mod-pgsql
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge proftpd-mod-pgsql
