How To Install procmail-lib on Ubuntu 18.04

Procmail Module Library is a collection of many plug-in modules for the Procmail mail processing utility. The modules allow common tasks like parsing dates, times, MIME, and email addresses, forwarding mail, dealing with POP3, spam shielding, running email cron jobs, handling daemon messages, and more.
Includes also all of Alan Stebben’s recipes (the pioneer of Procmail).
There are three methods to install procmail-lib on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install procmail-lib Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install procmail-lib using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install procmail-lib
Install procmail-lib Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install procmail-lib using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install procmail-lib
Install procmail-lib Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install procmail-lib using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install procmail-lib
How To Uninstall procmail-lib on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the procmail-lib package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove procmail-lib
Uninstall procmail-lib And Its Dependencies
To uninstall procmail-lib and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove procmail-lib
Remove procmail-lib Configurations and Data
To remove procmail-lib configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge procmail-lib
Remove procmail-lib configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove procmail-lib configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge procmail-lib
