What is prelink
The prelink package contains a utility which modifies ELF shared libraries and executables, so that far fewer relocations need to be resolved at runtime and thus programs come up faster.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install prelink
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install prelink.

Update yum database with yum

After updating yum database, We can install prelink
