How To Install ppl-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

The Parma Polyhedra Library (PPL) is a C++ library for the manipulation of (not necessarily closed) convex polyhedra and other numerical abstractions. The applications of convex polyhedra include program analysis, optimized compilation, integer and combinatorial optimization and statistical data-editing. The Parma Polyhedra Library is user friendly (you write `x + 2y + 5z <= 7’ when you mean it), fully dynamic (available virtual memory is the only limitation to the dimension of anything), written in standard C++, exception-safe, rather efficient and thoroughly documented.
This package provides the ppl-config binary.
There are three methods to install ppl-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ppl-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ppl-dev using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ppl-dev using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install ppl-dev using aptitude by running the following command:

How To Uninstall ppl-dev on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the ppl-dev package we can use the following command:

To uninstall ppl-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ppl-dev

To remove ppl-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ppl-dev
