Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install portreserve on CentOS 7.
What is portreserve
The portreserve program aims to help services with well-known ports that lie in the portmap range. It prevents portmap from a real service’s port by occupying it itself, until the real service tells it to release the port (generally in the init script).
We can use yum or dnf to install portreserve on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install portreserve.
Install portreserve on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
