What is poretools-data
poretools-data is:
poretools is a flexible toolkit for exploring datasets generated by nanopore sequencing devices from MinION for the purposes of quality control and downstream analysis. Poretools operates directly on the native FAST5 (a variant of the HDF5 standard) file format produced by ONT and provides a wealth of format conversion utilities and data exploration and visualization tools.
This package provides example nanopore sequencing data in fast5 format.
There are three methods to install poretools-data
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install poretools-data Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install poretools-data
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install poretools-data

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install poretools-data
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install poretools-data
Install poretools-data Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install poretools-data
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install poretools-data
