How To Install poppler-utils on Debian 9

What is poppler-utils
poppler-utils is:
Poppler is a PDF rendering library based on Xpdf PDF viewer.
This package contains command line utilities (based on Poppler) for getting information of PDF documents, convert them to other formats, or manipulate them:
- pdfdetach – lists or extracts embedded files (attachments)
- pdffonts – font analyzer
- pdfimages – image extractor
- pdfinfo – document information
- pdfseparate – page extraction tool
- pdfsig – verifies digital signatures
- pdftocairo – PDF to PNG/JPEG/PDF/PS/EPS/SVG converter using Cairo
- pdftohtml – PDF to HTML converter
- pdftoppm – PDF to PPM/PNG/JPEG image converter
- pdftops – PDF to PostScript (PS) converter

There are three methods to install poppler-utils
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install poppler-utils
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install poppler-utils
How To Uninstall poppler-utils on Debian 9
To uninstall only the poppler-utils
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove poppler-utils
Uninstall poppler-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall poppler-utils
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove poppler-utils
Remove poppler-utils Configurations and Data
To remove poppler-utils
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge poppler-utils
Remove poppler-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
