How To Install podman-plugins on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install podman-plugins
on AlmaLinux 8.
What is podman-plugins
This plugin sets up the use of dnsmasq on a given CNI network so that Pods can resolve each other by name. When configured, the pod and its IP address are added to a network specific hosts file that dnsmasq will read in. Similarly, when a pod is removed from the network, it will remove the entry from the hosts file. Each CNI network will have its own dnsmasq instance.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install podman-plugins
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install podman-plugins.
Install podman-plugins on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install podman-plugins
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install podman-plugins
Install podman-plugins on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install podman-plugins
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install podman-plugins
How To Uninstall podman-plugins on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the podman-plugins
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove podman-plugins
