How To Install pocl-tests on Debian 12

What is pocl-tests
pocl-tests is:
Portable Computing Language is an open source implementation of the OpenCL standard which can be easily adapted for new targets. One of the goals of the project is improving performance portability of OpenCL programs, avoiding the need for target-dependent manual optimizations. A “native” target is included, which allows running OpenCL kernels on the host (CPU).
This package contains the source code of the pocl test suite.
There are three methods to install pocl-tests
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pocl-tests Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pocl-tests
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pocl-tests
Install pocl-tests Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pocl-tests
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pocl-tests
Install pocl-tests Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pocl-tests
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pocl-tests
How To Uninstall pocl-tests on Debian 12
To uninstall only the pocl-tests
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pocl-tests
Uninstall pocl-tests And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pocl-tests
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pocl-tests
Remove pocl-tests Configurations and Data
To remove pocl-tests
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pocl-tests
Remove pocl-tests configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pocl-tests
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pocl-tests
