on Debian 12.
What is pocl-source
pocl-source is:
Portable Computing Language is an open source implementation of the OpenCL standard which can be easily adapted for new targets. One of the goals of the project is improving performance portability of OpenCL programs, avoiding the need for target-dependent manual optimizations.
This package provides original Debian (with Debian patches already applied) sources of pocl shipped in a tarball. This can be used for building the device libraries for additional targets.
There are three methods to install pocl-source
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pocl-source Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pocl-source
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pocl-source
Install pocl-source Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pocl-source
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pocl-source
Install pocl-source Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pocl-source
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pocl-source
How To Uninstall pocl-source on Debian 12
To uninstall only the pocl-source
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pocl-source
Uninstall pocl-source And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pocl-source
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pocl-source
Remove pocl-source Configurations and Data
To remove pocl-source
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pocl-source
Remove pocl-source configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pocl-source
