How To Install pocl-doc on Debian 9

What is pocl-doc
pocl-doc is:
Portable Computing Language is an open source implementation of the OpenCL standard which can be easily adapted for new targets. One of the goals of the project is improving performance portability of OpenCL programs, avoiding the need for target-dependent manual optimizations. A “native” target is included, which allows running OpenCL kernels on the host (CPU).
This package provides the development files for the pocl library. Unless very specific needs, this package is useless. This package is only required to link directly and explicitly with pocl.

There are three methods to install pocl-doc
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pocl-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pocl-doc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pocl-doc
Install pocl-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pocl-doc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pocl-doc
Install pocl-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pocl-doc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pocl-doc
How To Uninstall pocl-doc on Debian 9
To uninstall only the pocl-doc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pocl-doc
Uninstall pocl-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pocl-doc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pocl-doc
Remove pocl-doc Configurations and Data
To remove pocl-doc
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pocl-doc
Remove pocl-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pocl-doc
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pocl-doc
