What is pki-tps-client
pki-tps-client is:
Certificate System (CS) is an enterprise software system designed to manage enterprise Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) deployments.
The Token Processing System (TPS) is an optional PKI subsystem that acts as a Registration Authority (RA) for authenticating and processing enrollment requests, PIN reset requests, and formatting requests from the Enterprise Security Client (ESC).
TPS is designed to communicate with tokens that conform to Global Platform’s Open Platform Specification.
TPS communicates over SSL with various PKI backend subsystems (including the Certificate Authority (CA), the Data Recovery Manager (DRM), and the Token Key Service (TKS)) to fulfill the user’s requests.
TPS also interacts with the token database, an LDAP server that stores information about individual tokens.
This client is a test tool that interacts with TPS. It is useful to test TPS server configs without risking an actual smart card.
There are three methods to install pki-tps-client
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pki-tps-client Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pki-tps-client
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pki-tps-client

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pki-tps-client
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pki-tps-client
Install pki-tps-client Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pki-tps-client
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pki-tps-client
How To Uninstall pki-tps-client on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the pki-tps-client
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pki-tps-client
Uninstall pki-tps-client And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pki-tps-client
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pki-tps-client
Remove pki-tps-client Configurations and Data
To remove pki-tps-client
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pki-tps-client
Remove pki-tps-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
