It implements the extended version of SIP/SIMPLE used by various products * Skype for Business * Microsoft Office 365 * Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS) * Microsoft Lync Server * Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS 2007/2007 R2) * Microsoft Live Communications Server (LCS 2003/2005) * Reuters Messaging With this plugin you should be able to replace your Microsoft Office Communicator client with Pidgin. This package provides the icon set for Pidgin.

We can use yum or dnf to install pidgin-sipe on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install pidgin-sipe.

Install pidgin-sipe on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install pidgin-sipe using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install pidgin-sipe

Install pidgin-sipe on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install pidgin-sipe using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install pidgin-sipe

How To Uninstall pidgin-sipe on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the pidgin-sipe package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove pidgin-sipe
