What is php-silex

Silex is a PHP micro-framework. It is built on the shoulders of Symfony and Pimple and also inspired by Sinatra. A micro-framework provides the guts for building simple single-file apps. Silex aims to be * Concise to use * Extensible Pimple micro service-container that makes it even easier to tie in third party libraries * Testable requests and responses. This makes it very easy to test apps and the framework itself. It also respects the HTTP specification and encourages its’ proper use.

We can use yum or dnf to install php-silex on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install php-silex.

Install php-silex on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install php-silex using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install php-silex

Install php-silex on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install php-silex using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install php-silex

How To Uninstall php-silex on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the php-silex package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove php-silex
