What is php-pclzip

PclZip library offers compression and extraction functions for Zip formatted archives (WinZip, PKZIP). PclZip gives you the ability to manipulate zip formatted archives. You can create an archive, list the content and extract all its content in the file system. PclZip defines an object class which represent a Zip Archive. This class manages the archive properties and offers access method and actions on the archive.

We can use yum or dnf to install php-pclzip on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install php-pclzip.

Install php-pclzip on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install php-pclzip using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install php-pclzip

Install php-pclzip on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install php-pclzip using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install php-pclzip

How To Uninstall php-pclzip on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the php-pclzip package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove php-pclzip
