How To Install php-mock on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is php-mock
php-mock is:
PHP-Mock is a testing library which mocks non deterministic built-in PHP functions like time() or rand(). This is achieved by PHP’s namespace fallback policy. Therefore it is required to be in a non global namespace context and call the function unqualified.
PHP-Mock has integrations for PHPUnit, Mockery, and Prophecy (phpspec).
There are three methods to install php-mock
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install php-mock Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install php-mock
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install php-mock
Install php-mock Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install php-mock
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install php-mock
Install php-mock Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install php-mock
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install php-mock
How To Uninstall php-mock on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the php-mock
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove php-mock
Uninstall php-mock And Its Dependencies
To uninstall php-mock
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove php-mock
Remove php-mock Configurations and Data
To remove php-mock
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge php-mock
Remove php-mock configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove php-mock
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge php-mock
