What is php-imap
The php-imap package module will add IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) support to PHP. IMAP is a protocol for retrieving and uploading e-mail messages on mail servers. PHP is an HTML-embedded scripting language. If you need IMAP support for PHP applications, you will need to install this package.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install php-imap
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install php-imap.

Update yum database with yum

After updating yum database, We can install php-imap
using yum
