How To Install php-excimer on Debian 12

Excimer is a new PHP extension that provides a non-static, non-global profiler. It can be used as an alternative to the xhprof and tideways PHP extensions.
Excimer is being designed for usage in MediaWiki, but it has no dependency upon MediaWiki and can be used standalone.
There are three methods to install php-excimer on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install php-excimer Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install php-excimer using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install php-excimer

After updating apt database, We can install php-excimer using apt by running the following command:

Install php-excimer Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install php-excimer using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the php-excimer package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove php-excimer

sudo apt-get -y autoremove php-excimer
Remove php-excimer Configurations and Data
To remove php-excimer configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge php-excimer
