How To Install phing on Debian 12

In this tutorial we learn how to install phing
on Debian 12.
What is phing
phing is:
PHing Is Not GNU make; it’s a project build system based on Apache Ant. You can do anything with it that you could do with a traditional build system like GNU make, and its use of simple XML build files and extensible PHP “task” classes make it an easy-to-use and highly flexible build framework. Features include file transformations (e.g. token replacement, XSLT transformation, Smarty template transformations, etc.), file system operations, interactive build support, SQL execution, and much more.

There are three methods to install phing
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install phing

How To Uninstall phing on Debian 12
To uninstall only the phing
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove phing
Uninstall phing And Its Dependencies
To uninstall phing
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove phing
Remove phing Configurations and Data
To remove phing
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge phing
