pgTAP is a suite of database functions that make it easy to write TAP-emitting unit tests in psql scripts suitable for harvesting, analysis, and reporting by a TAP harness, such as those used in Perl and PHP applications.

TAP is the Test Anything Protocol (http://testanything.org/).

There are three methods to install pgtap-doc on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pgtap-doc Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pgtap-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
