How To Install perl on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install perl on Kali Linux.
What is perl
perl is:
Perl is a highly capable, feature-rich programming language with over 20 years of development. Perl 5 runs on over 100 platforms from portables to mainframes. Perl is suitable for both rapid prototyping and large scale development projects.
Perl 5 supports many programming styles, including procedural, functional, and object-oriented. In addition to this, it is supported by an ever-growing collection of reusable modules which accelerate development. Some of these modules include Web frameworks, database integration, networking protocols, and encryption. Perl provides interfaces to C and C++ for custom extension development.
There are three methods to install perl on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install perl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install perl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install perlInstall perl Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install perl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install perlInstall perl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install perl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install perlHow To Uninstall perl on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the perl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove perlUninstall perl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall perl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove perlRemove perl Configurations and Data
To remove perl configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge perlRemove perl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove perl configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge perlDependencies
