In this tutorial we learn how to install perl-Unicode-Map on AlmaLinux 8.

What is perl-Unicode-Map

This module converts strings from and to 2-byte Unicode UCS2 format. All mappings happen via 2 byte UTF16 encodings, not via 1 byte UTF8 encoding. To convert between UTF8 and UTF16 use Unicode For historical reasons this module coexists with Unicode Please use Unicode sets, e.g. Chinese GB2312. Anyway, if you stick to the basic functionality (see documentation) you can use both modules equivalently.

We can use yum or dnf to install perl-Unicode-Map on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-Unicode-Map.

Install perl-Unicode-Map on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall perl-Unicode-Map on AlmaLinux 8

To uninstall only the perl-Unicode-Map package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove perl-Unicode-Map
