What is perl-Text-Diff
Text utility. It is not anywhere near as feature complete as GNU diff, but it is better integrated with Perl and available on all platforms. It is often faster than shelling out to a system’s diff executable for small files, and generally slower on larger files.
We can use yum or dnf to install perl-Text-Diff on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-Text-Diff.
Install perl-Text-Diff on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install perl-Text-Diff using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install perl-Text-Diff
Install perl-Text-Diff on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install perl-Text-Diff using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install perl-Text-Diff
How To Uninstall perl-Text-Diff on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the perl-Text-Diff package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove perl-Text-Diff
