What is perl-Scalar-String
This module is about the string part of plain Perl scalars. A scalar has a string value, which is notionally a sequence of Unicode codepoints, but may be internally encoded in either ISO-8859-1 or UTF-8. In places, and more so in older versions of Perl, the internal encoding shows through. To fully understand Perl strings it is necessary to understand these implementation details.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install perl-Scalar-String
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-Scalar-String.
Install perl-Scalar-String on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install perl-Scalar-String
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install perl-Scalar-String
Install perl-Scalar-String on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install perl-Scalar-String
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install perl-Scalar-String
How To Uninstall perl-Scalar-String on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the perl-Scalar-String
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove perl-Scalar-String
