In this tutorial we learn how to install perl-Mock-Sub on CentOS 7.

What is perl-Mock-Sub

Easy to use and very lightweight module for mocking out sub calls. Very useful for testing areas of your own modules where getting coverage may be difficult due to nothing to test against, and/or to reduce test run time by eliminating the need to call subs that you really don’t want or need to test.

We can use yum or dnf to install perl-Mock-Sub on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-Mock-Sub.

Install perl-Mock-Sub on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install perl-Mock-Sub using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install perl-Mock-Sub

Install perl-Mock-Sub on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install perl-Mock-Sub using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install perl-Mock-Sub

How To Uninstall perl-Mock-Sub on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the perl-Mock-Sub package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove perl-Mock-Sub
