What is perl-IO-Socket-SSL
This module is a true drop-in replacement for IO that uses SSL to encrypt data before it is transferred to a remote server or client. IO that one needs to write a full-featured SSL client or server application verification, and SSL version selection. As an extra bonus, it works perfectly with mod_perl.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install perl-IO-Socket-SSL
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-IO-Socket-SSL.
Install perl-IO-Socket-SSL on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install perl-IO-Socket-SSL
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install perl-IO-Socket-SSL
Install perl-IO-Socket-SSL on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install perl-IO-Socket-SSL
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install perl-IO-Socket-SSL
How To Uninstall perl-IO-Socket-SSL on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the perl-IO-Socket-SSL
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove perl-IO-Socket-SSL
