In this tutorial we learn how to install perl-IO-Socket-IP on CentOS 7.

What is perl-IO-Socket-IP

This module provides a protocol-independent way to use IPv4 and IPv6 sockets, as a drop-in replacement for IO constructor arguments and methods are provided in a backward-compatible way.

We can use yum or dnf to install perl-IO-Socket-IP on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-IO-Socket-IP.

Install perl-IO-Socket-IP on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install perl-IO-Socket-IP using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install perl-IO-Socket-IP
