How To Install perl-Digest-SHA1 on CentOS 7

What is perl-Digest-SHA1
The Digest digest algorithm from within Perl programs. The algorithm takes as input a message of arbitrary length and produces as output a 160-bit “fingerprint” or “message digest” of the input. The Digest use, as well as an object oriented interface that can handle messages of arbitrary length and which can read files directly. A binary digest will be 20 bytes long. A hex digest will be 40 characters long. A base64 digest will be 27 characters long.
We can use yum or dnf to install perl-Digest-SHA1 on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-Digest-SHA1.
Install perl-Digest-SHA1 on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install perl-Digest-SHA1 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install perl-Digest-SHA1
Install perl-Digest-SHA1 on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install perl-Digest-SHA1 using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install perl-Digest-SHA1
How To Uninstall perl-Digest-SHA1 on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the perl-Digest-SHA1 package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove perl-Digest-SHA1
