How To Install perl-DateTime on Rocky Linux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install perl-DateTime
on Rocky Linux 8.
What is perl-DateTime
DateTime is a class for the representation of date/time combinations. It represents the Gregorian calendar, extended backwards in time before its creation (in 1582). This is sometimes known as the “proleptic Gregorian calendar”. In this calendar, the first day of the calendar (the epoch), is the first day of year 1, which corresponds to the date which was (incorrectly) believed to be the birth of Jesus Christ.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install perl-DateTime
on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-DateTime.
Install perl-DateTime on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install perl-DateTime
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install perl-DateTime

Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install perl-DateTime
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install perl-DateTime
How To Uninstall perl-DateTime on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the perl-DateTime
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove perl-DateTime
