How To Install perl-Data-Entropy on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install perl-Data-Entropy on CentOS 7. perl-Data-Entropy is Entropy (randomness) management

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install perl-Data-Entropy on CentOS 7.

What is perl-Data-Entropy

This module maintains a concept of a current selection of entropy source. Algorithms that require entropy, such as those in Data module, avoiding the need for entropy source objects to be explicitly passed around. This is convenient because usually one entropy source will be used for an entire program run and so an explicit entropy source parameter would rarely vary. There is also a default entropy source, avoiding the need to explicitly configure a source at all.

We can use yum or dnf to install perl-Data-Entropy on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-Data-Entropy.

Install perl-Data-Entropy on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install perl-Data-Entropy using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install perl-Data-Entropy

Install perl-Data-Entropy on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install perl-Data-Entropy using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install perl-Data-Entropy

How To Uninstall perl-Data-Entropy on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the perl-Data-Entropy package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove perl-Data-Entropy
