How To Install pelican on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install pelican on Kali Linux.
What is pelican
pelican is:
Pelican is a static site generator, written in Python. It allows you to write your weblog entries directly with your editor of choice in reStructuredText or Markdown, and generates completely static output that is easy to host anywhere. Pelican includes a simple CLI tool to (re)generate the weblog and it is easy to interface with DVCSes and web hooks.
There are three methods to install pelican on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pelican Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pelican using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pelicanInstall pelican Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pelican using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pelicanInstall pelican Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pelican using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pelicanHow To Uninstall pelican on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the pelican package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pelicanUninstall pelican And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pelican and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pelicanRemove pelican Configurations and Data
To remove pelican configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pelicanRemove pelican configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pelican configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pelicanDependencies
