How To Install pd-puremapping on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install pd-puremapping on Kali Linux.

What is pd-puremapping

pd-puremapping is:

This collection of abstractions for Pure Data (Pd)are made to facilitate the use of sensors and to create complex relations between input and output of a dynamic system.

Puremapping is based on the (discontinued) ’la-kitchen’ library, and the ‘mapping’ library (shipped in Debian as ‘pd-mapping’). Most object of puremapping should be compatible with the ‘mapping’ library.

There are three methods to install pd-puremapping on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pd-puremapping Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pd-puremapping using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pd-puremapping

Install pd-puremapping Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pd-puremapping using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pd-puremapping

Install pd-puremapping Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pd-puremapping using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pd-puremapping

How To Uninstall pd-puremapping on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the pd-puremapping package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove pd-puremapping

Uninstall pd-puremapping And Its Dependencies

To uninstall pd-puremapping and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pd-puremapping

Remove pd-puremapping Configurations and Data

To remove pd-puremapping configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge pd-puremapping

Remove pd-puremapping configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove pd-puremapping configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
