How To Install pd-pool on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install pd-pool on Kali Linux.
What is pd-pool
pd-pool is:
[pool] can store and retrieve key/value pairs, where a key can be any atom and the value can be any list of atoms. [pool] can manage folders, a folder name can be any atom. [pool] objects can be named and then share their data space. Clipboard operations are possible in a pool or among several pools. File operations can load/save data from disk.
There are three methods to install pd-pool on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pd-pool Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pd-pool using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pd-poolInstall pd-pool Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pd-pool using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pd-poolInstall pd-pool Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install pd-pool using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pd-poolHow To Uninstall pd-pool on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the pd-pool package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pd-poolUninstall pd-pool And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pd-pool and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pd-poolRemove pd-pool Configurations and Data
To remove pd-pool configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pd-poolRemove pd-pool configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pd-pool configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pd-poolDependencies
