How To Install pd-mapping on Ubuntu 18.04

What is pd-mapping
pd-mapping is:
The Mapping Library for Pd is a library of mapping primitives for mapping data to controls. Also included are techniques for conditioning sensor data to make it usable in the context of instrument design. It is something like a set of unit generators for mapping, plotting out the most basic building blocks for creating instrument mappings.
There are three methods to install pd-mapping on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pd-mapping Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pd-mapping using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pd-mapping
Install pd-mapping Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pd-mapping using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pd-mapping
Install pd-mapping Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pd-mapping using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pd-mapping
How To Uninstall pd-mapping on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the pd-mapping package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pd-mapping
Uninstall pd-mapping And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pd-mapping and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pd-mapping
Remove pd-mapping Configurations and Data
To remove pd-mapping configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pd-mapping
Remove pd-mapping configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pd-mapping configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pd-mapping
