How To Install pd-3dp on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install pd-3dp on Kali Linux.

What is pd-3dp

pd-3dp is:

PDP is an extension library for Pd that allows you to manipulate movies and live video data in realtime. PDP stands for Pd Packet, the data container that is used for images in PDP.

This library extends PDP with texture and render context packets, to use some of the power of current video hardware.

Warning: this is still experimental and incomplete!

There are three methods to install pd-3dp on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install pd-3dp Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install pd-3dp using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install pd-3dp

Install pd-3dp Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install pd-3dp using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install pd-3dp

Install pd-3dp Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install pd-3dp using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install pd-3dp

How To Uninstall pd-3dp on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the pd-3dp package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove pd-3dp

Uninstall pd-3dp And Its Dependencies

To uninstall pd-3dp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pd-3dp

Remove pd-3dp Configurations and Data

To remove pd-3dp configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge pd-3dp

Remove pd-3dp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove pd-3dp configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pd-3dp
