How To Install pcsxr on Debian 9

What is pcsxr
pcsxr is:
PCSX is an advanced PlayStation (PSX) emulator, which uses a plugin architecture to provide full support for all components of the PSX. It has full emulation support for gamepads, videos, sound, memory cards, and other important PSX components, and is able to play many games without problems.
This package contains PCSX-Reloaded, which is based on PCSX-df 1.9 which is in turn based on the original PCSX.
There are three methods to install pcsxr
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pcsxr Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pcsxr
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pcsxr

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pcsxr
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pcsxr
Install pcsxr Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pcsxr
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pcsxr
How To Uninstall pcsxr on Debian 9
To uninstall only the pcsxr
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pcsxr
Uninstall pcsxr And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pcsxr
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pcsxr
Remove pcsxr Configurations and Data
To remove pcsxr
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pcsxr
Remove pcsxr configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pcsxr
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pcsxr
